What is it?

RuleDesigner is an Artificial Intelligence (AI) based software developed to perform multiple tasks in idea generations from existing knowledge and data. RuleDesigner is based on distributed reasoning agents, a new AI technology for extrapolating and interpolating knowledge represented in the form of rules, decision tables, designs, etc. RuleDesigner provides rigorous mathematical techniques for generation of new knowledge from the existing knowledge, rules, designs, or decision tables.

  

What does it do?

RuleDesigner identifies key relationships between decision components in the existing rules or designs, and generates new rules or designs that fulfill these relationships within a prescribed threshold. It does it by requesting the user to define an agent structure and components, and by targeting selected examples of rules and designs in order to develop new ones.

RuleDesigner can be used to:

  1. look for new engineering designs based on databases of existing designs, e.g. in structural designs, product designs, etc.
  2. develop new rules based on databases of existing rules derived from data, e.g. in process control, finance, medical cost containment, marketing, etc.
  3. address problems of limited domain data by extrapolating rules, designs and models beyond the original data from which they were derived.

 

How does it compare to other products?

 RuleDesigner provides a combination of capabilities for extrapolation and interpolation of knowledge such as rules, designs or decision tables not offered by any other product or technology. This includes the abilities to:

  1. generate new knowledge for specified target designs and rules,
  2. identify key relationships between knowledge and decision components,
  3. generate new rules and designs without the need for collecting new data,
  4. reason about knowledge.
