What is it?

Forecaster is an Artificial Intelligence (AI) based software designed to performs multiple tasks in decision support, forecasting, optimization and automation. Forecaster is based on approximate reasoning, a new AI approach to making decision from limited knowledge and ambiguous or inconsistent data. The key idea behind approximate reasoning is that using multi-criteria decisions helps to identify abnormal and anomalous events or data, and facilitates decisions making even when new situations are partially dissimilar or inconsistent. Forecaster provides rigorous mathematical techniques for making decision from data.

 

What does it do?

Forecaster forecasts outcomes, recommends actions, optimizes and automates industrial systems based on real-time or historical data, and knowledge rules derived by DataLogic and RuleDesigner.  Forecaster finds the best rules or patterns to match. Optim looks for patterns which will result in the desired outcome and recommends what adjustments must by made in order to ensure that outcome. It does it using approximate reasoning by quantifying consistencies, discrepancies and inconsistencies between new data/situations and the available knowledge (rules, decision tables, etc.).

The users of Forecaster:

  1. Forecast/predict outcomes for new data, situation and events, e.g. stock market trends analysis, medical diagnosis, business performance, prediction of bankruptcies (Forecaster)
  2. Optimize/control complex multivariable systems, e.g. industrial automation, medical cost containment, operator performance improvement (Optim)
